Citi Rewards+ Student Card 2,500 Bonus Points
Take advantage of the 2,500 ThankYou bonus points offer. It’s easy to earn. All you have to do is charge at least $500 to your card within the first 3 months of opening your account.
The 2,500 ThankYou points welcome bonus has a value of just $25. It’s not the best bonus offer on the market, but is fairly standard for any Student credit card with a bonus.

What Are ThankYou Points Worth?
The lowest level ThankYou points you earn on Citi Rewards+ don’t have the same redemption value as “normal” ThankYou points. As a Rewards+ Student cardholder, you can only transfer your points to JetBlue (more on that later).
Other redemption options include:
- Travel booked through the ThankYou Travel center
- Merchandise at Amazon.com or BestBuy.com
- Gift cards
- Statement credits
All of these methods of redemption have a per-point value of $0.01. This valuation is very basic, on average, across different rewards cards.
Citi Rewards+ Student Card Top Features
Citi Rewards+ Student rounds up earnings on all purchases to the nearest 10 points. If you spent $11 on lunch, you’ll earn 20 ThankYou points instead of 11.
This also means you’re guaranteed to earn a minimum of 10 points on every purchase. So it’s a useful feature if you often make purchases under $10.
Citi Rewards+ Student gives 10% of your redeemed points back. You’ll get it at the end of each calendar year, for up to 100,000 redeemed points. That means a maximum of 10,000 ThankYou points back annually, which is a $100 value.
All cardholders benefit from a suite of Citi services, including:
- Citi Private Pass. Buy tickets to concerts, sporting events, comedy shows and more before they’re open to the general public. Look out for exclusive VIP packages to certain events.

The Citi Rewards+ Student Card is a great option for those students who are low spenders looking to establish credit. Because you will earn the most rewards through groceries and gas, your expenses should fall within these two categories.
