Halloween falls on October 31st and is celebrated, but not considered a federal holiday. So if it falls on your regular business day, your bank would be open.
But this year, banks might close as Halloween falls on a Sunday when most banks normally aren’t open. There are exceptions where bank would offer certain branches operating hours on Sundays. Make sure to call ahead or use the branch locator on for your branch to confirm if they’re open or closed.
Tips for Banking on Halloween
If you own a smartphone or a debit or ATM card, you are able to do your banking when your llocal branch is closed on Halloween. You can do the following:
- Deposit cash or checks or make a withdrawal at an ATM
- Make a mobile check deposit
- Transfer funds and pay bills using your bank’s mobile banking app
- Send or receive money using Zelle, Venmo, PayPal or Cash App
Upcoming Bank Holidays in 2021
Make sure you plan ahead for the remaining holidays of 2021 since bank will generally closed during the following holidays:
- November 11 – Veterans Day
- November 25 – Thanksgiving Day
- December 25 – Christmas Day
