How to Avoid Monthly Fees

• Essential Checking: No monthly service fees w/eStatements
• Platinum Rewards Checking: $12 monthly fee. To avoid the fee, you must have a minimum daily balance of $3,000, or combined average daily balance in all deposit accounts of $10,000 or monthly net direct deposit of $750
• Select Business Checking: $10 monthly fee (waived for first 2 months). Maintain one of the following to avoid the monthly account fee:
  • Maintain a $1,500 average daily balance
  • 10 or more business debit or credit card transactions per month
  • $15,000 combine business balances
• Premier Business Checking: $20 monthly fee (waived for first 2 months). Maintain one of the following to avoid the monthly account fee:

  • Maintain $35,000 in combined business balances (ex: checking, savings, credit)
  • Make $1,000 in net purchases per month on VWCU Business debit or credit card

Author’s Verdict

This bonus from Vantage West Credit Union is rather generous and has quite simple requirements. However, I would check with a CSR to see if this account triggers a hard or soft pull before opening.
