Gas Purchases Categories
We will briefly discuss this credit card’s earning potential for gas purchases. With the Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card, you will get 2X the points per $1 when you spend on gas, utility, and/or grocery purchases.
This is a pretty average offer, but there aren’t any rotating categories and no cap on how many points you can earn. If you drive often, you can quickly rack up your points at the pump and save up to earn a free night’s stay.

Hotel Stay Categories
With the sign-up offer for this credit card, you’ll be able to receive up to 2 free nights if you meet all the requirements. All Wyndham affiliated hotels can be booked for 15,000 points a night. In other words, every 15,000 Wyndham points gets you a free night’s stay at any of their properties. This applies as long as a standard room is available
It’s suggested that you make use of these points by staying at the higher end Wyndham properties. Since there aren’t too many upper scale Wyndham properties, it’d be more worth it if you were to stay at their all-inclusive hotels. All inclusive Viva Wyndham resorts to choose from include:
- Fortune Beach in the Bahamas
- Dominicus Beach in the Dominican Republic
- Dominicus Palace in the Dominican Republic
- Tangerine in the Dominican Republic
- Azteca in Riviera Maya, Mexico
- Maya in Riviera Maya, Mexico
These resorts tend to cost about $400 a night during peak season, so one single sign up bonus can save you up to $1,200 or more for a 3 nights stay. Also, if you really want to stretch your points, Wyndham has ‘Go Fast Awards’ where you can combine cash + points together. Those will give you some excellent value for certain hotel stays.

With the Wyndham Rewards Visa Signature Card, even though the annual fee isn’t waived the first year, it is still more valuable than the no-annual fee card. For example, one of the perks is you will automatically earn with this card is the Platinum status. You’ll get the following incentives with this status:
- Early check in
- Annual point bonus of 3,000 points
- Avis & Budget car rental upgrade
- They also give you Total Rewards Diamond status
Additionally, you get 5X the points for all hotel purchases you make within the Wyndham portfolio. That’s a pretty good amount of points that could help you earn more with your card. But just know that even though all of these perks may sound appealing, if you stay at an all inclusive hotel, you’ll most likely be spending some of your vacation time getting a timeshare sales pitch at some point during your stay. If you’re not a fan of such things, you may want to weigh your cons/pros and think about the value of the points before applying for this credit card.
