You can earn 10,000 Membership Rewards points when you charge $1,000 of eligible purchases on a Platinum Card from American Express exclusively for Mercedes Benz in your first 3 months of Card Membership.

Earn Points for Gas Purchases

As of May 1, 2017, the Platinum Card from American Express Exclusively for Mercedes-Benz will allow you to earn 3X the Membership Reward points for gas purchases in the United States. However, the catch is that the reward points will only apply if the transaction is $400 or less.

There are already some mixed emotions about how Mercedes-Benz consumers feel about this since some consumers who have less miles per gallon will now be affected by it.

Here, the Mercedes-Benz Credit Card from American Express is targeted for Mercedes-Benz consumers who may not want to spend as often as the Platinum Card users but still receive similar benefits but for a lower annual fee.

Where this card may shine compared to the Platinum card also is that it allows you to receive points back for all your gasoline purchases and dining experiences at a considerably good flat rate of 3% and 2% for each of these categories.
