Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card Summary
Author’s Verdict
For a hotel card, the Marriott Rewards® Premier Credit Card‘s annual fee is considered to be a bit steep. However, if you are a frequent or loyal Marriott consumer, the benefits might just compensate it. It offers high rewards on Marriott spending, travel benefits, and a nice sign-up bonus. Here are just a few examples as to why this card might appeal to you.
To start off, you’ll be eligible to receive 1 free night stay at a category 1-5 hotel every year after your account anniversary. That’s a few hundred dollars you could save while traveling! This can be redeemed this at any time within the following 12 months of your anniversary date. Next, this card will help you reach elite status quickly. You will receive 15 credits toward your next Elite membership level after account approval as well as annually after your account anniversary. Earn 1 Elite credit for every $3,000 spent on purchases too. These will result in you gaining luxury benefits such as priority late checkout while traveling. Lastly, another great feature of this card is being able to rack up to nearly 5X the points when spending on Marriott related purchases, airfare, rentals, and dining — all of which are common major travel purchases made by consumers.
To conclude, this card offers great benefits that include easy to use travel credits. But this card is not for everyone. If you can not justify the annual fee for this credit card, don’t prefer Marriott as a hotel choice, and want more flexible earning options, then this card is not for you.
